Moab, and Arches National Park

I got a call from my brother Brian, the first thing he said was, "I have a crazy idea". Well that crazy idea was for us to drive down to moab and hike all day then drive back home before dinner. Moab is about a three hour drive. Of course I was down, I am always ready to go on a crazy adventure, and who can say say no to the red rocks of Moab. All night I could not sleep so when my alarm went off at 5:00am I was awake and ready to go. Brian and I met up at the K-mart in Spanish Fork, we said we would meet at 6:00am, we were both so excited to go we were both there before 5:45am. So we hit the road and headed down Hwy 6 to south east Utah. Right when we turned off the freeway and on the a hwy a cop pulled us over for speeding, the crappy thing was that day we saw these two cops pull over 5 cars, on one stretch of road. When we got to Arches at 8:00am the weather was perfect, cloudy with some sprinkles of rain coming down. We started with Delicate Arch hike, then we hit every hike but one in the park. We ended up hiking around 9 miles. Just as we planned we made it back home for dinner, even though I was home alone and Jennifer was out with her friends, it was still part of the plan.

Best Day of My Life

Some people will say that their wedding day, having a child, or graduating from college, would be the best day of their life. But since I have not experienced any of those days in my life, I am going to go ahead a declare that July 14 ,2011 was the best day of my life. There were two great events that made it the best day. First best friends were reunited, second I was able to witness in person the singer song writer Ben Folds, many minor events also took place, to make this day magical. You may remember my best friend Mark, he has been featured several times in earlier post. Two years ago he went to the land Brazil, to be one of those weird guys that walk around in a white shirt and tie, and talk about Jesus. After two rambling years he returned home. I went with his family to the air port to pick him up. We all had matching shirts that had a picture of Mark's face on the front. Like I had hope he is still good old Mark, even though he dose not any older. Just for this special event I shaved my beard into a handle bar mustache, yes I did have a great desire of become a trucker, not sure why. When we got back to Payson it was time for me to start my journey with my friend Caitlin. We left Payson and headed to the The Great Saltair, to see Ben Folds, we were a little thirsty so we got off the freeway to stop at Mac Donald's to get some drinks. We stopped, when the turn signal to turn left was red, there was a thump and a bump on our back end. Yes we had been hit! I looked out my window(I was the passenger) and there was a guy on a motorcycle laying down on the road next to our car. I got out of the car to see if he was okay. He was so we pulled off the road, Caitlin said maybe he will just give me $100. He had scraped the bumper of Caitlin's car(which she got for a $1000). The man asked what she wanted to do, and if she would just take some money. He gave a check for $50, and we all went on our happy way. Since her car is kinda crappy anyways (no offence) she just made $50. We finally got to The Great Saltair, and the concert was the best, I have seen Ben several times and this was by far the best concert.
He played my favorite Kesha song sleazy, I hope it becomes your too. When the concert was over went to Mark's house and kidnap him. By the time we got back to Payson it was 1:00 am so everyone in his house was asleep. We had to be super sneaky and do a B and E, then we were not sure where he was asleep so we went around his house in the dark looking we found him. We found him in his old room, ya we should have looked there first. Unlike what most people think offering the kidnapped candy and hamburgers did not work, but finally we got him to come with us. We went up old Payson canyon and we just talked, and Mark got is first huge from a girl.
We took him back and that was the end of the best day of my life.

Fouth of July with the sis

The Fourth of July is always a great time in America, and this year was no exception. I talked my sister Heather into leaving the land of spuds (Boise) and joining me in Zion (Utah) for the weekend. We started our adventurers with a trip down to zoobie land, (Provo) just like the Declaration of Independence some things never change, and Provo and all of the fashion fopas is one of those. Socks and sandals, tucked in t-shirts, girls with knee lanth shorts, and breaded belts. We stopped at what we think is the best Americanised Mexican food in all or Utah county, you know it Los Hermanos, like always it fantastic.
Then comes the real reason we went to the land of zoobies, Stadium of Fire, which I feel is only out done by Beijing Chine's New Year. We will give that to them because they did invent the firework. The fire works were awsome, and just sitting there on the grass enjoying the cool summer air was great too. Sunday we went up to the old family cabin up Weber canyon, I saw some family that I had not seen since the before the mission. Heather and I went a sweet three Wheeler ride.
On our way back to Payson, we stooped in Heber at granny's for some shakes. Our plan was to go to the band concert at the Payson park. As we did a drive by we decided that the crowd was not big enough, and we would be easily spotted by those that we have not cared to see since high school. Monday is when the really fun begins we hit up the old daily freeze, for good old times. Headed up to Payson Lakes, also pick up my friend Chrisanna Thayne, for some swimming in the lake. We went to the peer and jumped off several time into the cold water. Heather was really struggling with this as you can see from the video, but all in all it was a great time.
Also we took another trip back to the 90's and busted out the old puffy paints and made sweet custom tank tops for our fun time at the lake. Over all we called this weekend a 7-10 of the fun scale.

Dinner and BINGO

If you have ever been driving down the highway in Payson on a Friday you may have seen the sign that the Catholic church puts up that say "Dinner and Bing tonight 6:00". Throughout my high school years my friends and myself would always say that we need to go play BINGO with the old ladies at the church. What we were saying was empty comments, until last Friday, me and Mark (who you have met in earlier post) were driving down the road and saw that sign and I said "We need to do that tonight because it is the last chance we will have". Mark being semi hesitant said sure, so we were off on our last great adventure together. We walked into the church and found four older ladies talking in a kitchen. We walked in and said "We want to play BINGO and eat some dinner", they said "okay". One of the ladies told us how it worked and what we need to do. The main thing that she told us to do was to sit by an old lady named Mary, she was a seasoned veteran at the game of BINGO she had been coming and playing BINGO since they had started. Sitting next to her and talking I learned that she was 81 years old and that her husband had died 10 years earlier, and the most money that she had won was 100 buck in one night. We played about 12 games of BINGO but not just regular BINGO we played many different varieties of it. Mark or myself did not win anything but we both come close many times. Mary won 15 dollars. it was a very fun adventure and I am glad that I finally got the chance to play BINGO with all the old ladies.

Baseball, Goodbye, and Ducks

BASEBALL
Last night Brian, dad, and myself. Went to the Bee's baseball game, it was very fun even though in the seventh inning Tacoma scored 8 runs and we the bee's lost 3-13. But the cool part was, in the second inning a foul ball came strait towards us, no we did not catch it because it was going like 100 MPH and almost hit Dad in the head, it ended up hitting a pipe and braking the insulation that was covering it.
GOODBYE
After the baseball game we went back to Brian's house, the next morning Brian and Jen were heading to Alaska for there great summer adventure, so they will not see me off at the MTC next week, we said our goodbye at this point. It was sad to see them for the last time for the next two years but I really was just worried about Jen crying and getting all emotional my family is not really like that and it has been and adjustment for everyone since she has been in the family (not that she cries a lot but she hugs a lot and we do not do that is our family) but she did not cry and thank you for that. I just don't like to make people sad.
DUCKS
This morning I decided Issac and I would go feed the ducks. Him being only two and barely able to speech said "Ya" so we went over to Salem pond. Normally when you go there are so many ducks that it is crazy but this time all we could find were a flock of geese but it was all good we had a good time and Issac had a fun time I think.

Trafunga and so much more!!!

I am going to recap the last week of my life. Don't worry I will not go into to much detail (so I will only tell you the cool or fun things that happened to me.
Friday
So last Friday night Mark, Maggie (a girl that he got set up on a date with, by his boss) Katelyn Burraston, and myself went to a place that my family and friends call Trafunga (which is Trafalga one of the happiest places on earth behind Disneyland and so many other places) we played so mini golf (which I won) and hit the arcade, Where Mark and I had a competition on the funnest game ever. It is called Jumpin' Jackpot is was so much fun just watch the movie and you will see what I mean.
Saturday
on Saturday Garry, Eric, and myself went to the Utes red and white game. is was a blast but the best part about it was I go my favorite player to sign a picture that I had of him his name is Robert Johnson (but we are such good of friends that I call him Bob most of the time) is was sweet.
Sunday
I gave my profound mission sermon it was kind of crappy but I gave a really good joke it goes like this.

A priest goes into a barber's shop sits down, gets a good haircut, thanks the barber, and asks how much he owes him.The barber says, 'Father, you're a holy man, a man of the cloth there is no charge you.'The priest blesses the barber and says, 'Thank you very much' and goes about his business. The next day, 10 gold coins magically appear on the barber's doorstep. The following week a rabbi comes in, gets a haircut, goes to pay and the barber says, 'No, Rabbi, you are a learned man, a wise man, I can't take any money from you, go in peace.'Then the next day, the barber opens his shop to find 10 silver coins on the door mat A few days later, a Bishop goes in for a shave and a shine, and when the time comes to pay the barber says, 'No money, please, you're a spiritual leader, a man of the people, it's on the house.'The next day, magically appearing on the doorstep are 2 missionaries.

Good right?

that is the end of my cool week maybe I should have said my super cool weekend. what ever no one reads this anyways.
